Pilates Props and Resource List—Evolving
Pilates After School wants to share the types of materials and props we use in our classes as well as a great list of evolving research and articles. This is meant to help parents who want to further support their Pilates at home and maybe even for the whole family!
For Pilates and especially Kids Pilates we use a nice, thick mat. They are thicker then your standard Yoga mat. Please either use a thick Pilates mat or a Yoga mat on carpet or rug are fine.
We use these Franklin balls. Most soft balls of this size will work, but these really are the best.
The half dome is the best piece of equipment for the money out there! It can do lots of things from stretching to balance. Your kids will be learning how to use them.
Stretching strap: any yoga strap will do, and I am sure a towel is also fine, but a strap is super useful to help avoid over stretching.
